The standalone artifact, generated project, and build requirements.
The standalone archetype produces an executable binary from a generated Rust project. Select it
through the build block.
The binary embeds the generated application and prepared tool, skill and other assets.
| Output | Description |
|---|---|
| Generated project | Rust source, package manifest, and toolchain configuration. Available through agentc generate. |
| Compiled artifact | Executable binary. Its output location is controlled by agentc build. |
The generated project includes Cargo.toml, rust-toolchain.toml, build.rs, and a src/ directory.
The executable's entry point is src/main.rs. Command dispatch is in src/cli/, and runtime
configuration is in src/config/. Additional files come from the selected components and custom
blocks.
For deployment instructions, see Deploy a standalone binary.
Building requires Cargo and rustup. The generated project selects Rust 1.99 and edition 2024.
The build reference defines the target operating system and architecture options. Running the artifact through agentc run requires a host-compatible target.
| Reference | Describes |
|---|---|
| Command-line interface | Commands, options, and output of the generated binary. |
| Runtime configuration | Environment variables, runtime values, and configuration loading. |
| Extension points | Places custom blocks contribute to generated files. |
